We piloted a Black Farmer’s Market event in Myatt’s Field Park, Camberwell. Sadly, Lambeth council were rejecting our proposal to come back in 2024 despite our demand by the local community. Even though they were offering other areas in Brixton, why couldn’t we keep doing our markets on this particular street that was perfect for our events?
The event at Myatt’s Fields Park was to celebrate Windrush Day and we wanted to highlight how wellness was practiced amongst the windrush generation. This event worked particularly well for our workshops however the street food and artisan business had less footfall than expected which makes sense because it was in a park. Our existing visitors interact more when the market is hosted on a street.

A women's health discussion centred around Nutrition and Mind took place in the Quiet Garden.
At Black Growth, our events are extraordinary. See a list below of all the wellness activities we hosted throughout the park (utilising all the space) for our first Harvest Wellness Festival.
