The projects we’ve delivered at Black Growth reflect the diversity, creativity and ambition of our community.

CSA Scheme
We piloted a Community Supported Agriculture scheme, delivering veg bags to Croydon locals every 2 weeks.

1st Black Farmer's Market
We launched the UK's first Black Farmer's Market in Brixton with 3,000 visitors and 5 traders selling out.

Handmade Condiments
We created a chutney, pickle and relish all made from produce in our market garden then sold at our Farmer's Markets.

Roots x BGCIC Harvest Festival
Co-created with Roots Allotments, we hosted a harvest festival involving an urban farm tour, African Drumming and mini market.

Black Farmer's Market 2025
In collaboration with Brixton Bid, we hosted our 5th Farmer's Market and sold our fresh produce for the first time.

Community Day
Our Community Day in July was our biggest turnout involving garlic braiding, family meals and growing knowledge exchange.

Somerset House Exhibition: SOIL
Funded by The Nest, a short film about the journey and identity of Black Growth CIC was displayed at the SOIL Exhibition 2025.

Myatt's Fields Park Wellness Festival
Two successful wellness festivals at Myatt's Fields Park combining our Black Farmer's Market with nature-based and creative workshops.

Black Small Business Network
Through hosting high-footfall, impactful events for traders, we’ve built a strong, trusted network of Black-owned businesses who consistently trade with us.

Croydon Jonkonnu Food Donation
The Croydon Jamaican Jonkonnu Queen received a generous food donation from us for her amazing presence at Croydon Harvest.

Secured Land at Roots Allotments
We were gifted land from Roots Allotments to further our mission of restoring the relationship between Black people and land.

Children's Programme
Up to 10 children visited our Market Garden and assisted with creative signage for our polytunnel, shed and food beds.

2023 Black Farmer's Market
Located on Brixton Station Road for the second time, we hosted a market in September and October with beautiful weather.

London Docklands Mini Market
During Summer 2024 we worked with a one trader and London Docklands Museum for their Family Festival of Caribbean Culture.
